Chelsey Sophia Rodgers is an attorney, beauty queen, small business owner, and inspirational speaker in the Washington, DC area. She serves the public interest as an appellate litigation attorney with the federal government and is licensed to practice law in the District of Columbia, Maryland, and New York. She was admitted to the United States Supreme Court Bar in June 2018 and sworn in by Chief Justice John Roberts.
Chelsey is a Summa Cum Laude graduate of Spelman College with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science and received her Juris Doctor from Howard University School of Law. She was named “Who’s Who in Black Washington, DC” by Real Times Media in 2010 and 2011 and named “Top 30 Under 30” by Radio One and WKYS DC in 2012. As an alumna of Spelman and Howard, Chelsey was selected to perform "Lift Every Voice" at the annual AT&T Nations Football Classic rivalry between Howard University and Morehouse College in Washington, DC.
Chelsey previously worked as an attorney in asset-backed securities, mortgage-backed securities, and business litigation in the New York office of McKee Nelson, LLP and formerly served as Director of Business & Legal Affairs for the Atlanta- based marketing and communications firm, Johnson Media, Inc. She formerly served as chairperson of the District of Columbia Juvenile Justice Advisory Board, which advises juvenile agencies and ensures juvenile delinquency prevention programs meet the needs of youth.
Chelsey is a former Miss District of Columbia International 2010 and placed as a top ten finalist at the 2010 Miss International Pageant. She also won the title of Miss District of Columbia USA 2008 and represented the District at the 2008 Miss USA Pageant. She is the owner of Brains & Beauties Pageant & Lifestyle Consulting, a pageant and lifestyle consulting firm, and has served as an emcee and pageant judge for multiple local and state pageant systems, including the MAO, MAOT, MUO, Miss Teen USA, and Mrs. America pageant systems. She is also former Executive Director of Miss District of Columbia's Outstanding Teen program.
Chelsey continues to travel across the metro DC area speaking at youth conferences, schools, and special events encouraging women and youth to appreciate their unique differences, develop healthy self-confidence, and use that confidence to pursue their life and career passions.
She currently resides in northeast Washington, DC with her two Yorkshire terriers, Trixie and Bailey.
